Herbal Tea Circle

Like a book club, but with herbs!

Come and taste a mystery herbal tea in a small group session led by Dr Sue Pitt Medical Herbalist. Share your thoughts and feelings about the herb and the responses you have to it with others in the group in a supportive environment. Learn about how the herb is used by Medical Herbalists. Get tips on how to forage or grow the herb and how to combine it with other herbs to treat minor ailments, aid sleep or improve your digestion. Go home with a fact sheet about the herb and a small bag of it to try in your own time.

Whirlow Brook Park Events

I have started working with the Friends of Whirlow Brook Park on their new Herbs and Healing Plants project. The aim is to increase the number of plants with medicinal properties growing in the park, especially in the community orchard where they will contribute further to enhancing biodiversity and supporting wildlife. They have regular volunteer sessions which anyone can get involved in – the details are on their website.

There will be a plant sale on Saturday 9th May, 10 am – 1 pm at the park. There will be a range of garden plants available, which may or may not be herbal.

On Saturday 6th June, 10 – 12 am there will be an open morning in the Community Orchard. This is included in the programme of events for Sheffield Environment Weeks. I will be on hand serving herbal tea and giving information about the medicinal plants that are growing in the orchard.

Both events are free of charge, but please bring cash if you want to buy plants and/or refreshments.
